OTUNBA NIYI ADEBAYO

Hon. Minister FMITI (Chief Host)

Following his inauguration by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, on 21 August 2019, Otunba Richard Adeniyi Adebayo, CON, became Nigeria’s 40th Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment to oversee government’s goal of economic diversification to non-oil revenue earnings. As the number one investment driver of Nigeria, Adebayo is leading the promotion of government’s policies of Ease of Doing Business, job creation, poverty eradication and industrialization. The Minister has been implementing certain policies and programmes including standardization of bilateral trade agreements, stimulating growth of domestic Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs and renewed roadmap to increase Nigeria’s Foreign Direct Investment, FDIs. Otunba Adebayo had built a Business and Legal Career spanning about forty years. His experience is extensive in areas such as: Project Finance, Oil and Gas, Commercial Law and Business Facilitation. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the Nigerian Institute of Management, a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria and a Director of the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria. He is also a member of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Nigeria.

Professor Abiodun Oluwafemi Oluwadare

Dean of Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources, University of Ibadan (Keynote Speaker)

Abiodun Oluwafemi OLUWADARE is a Professor of Pulp and Paper Science, Wood Quality and Climate Change Education. He began his career as a Research Officer in the Pulp and Paper Laboratory Unit of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO), Lagos in 1989. He joined the University of Ibadan as a Lecturer in the Wood Science Unit in 1998. He rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Pulp and Paper Science and Wood Quality in the Department of Forest Production and Products in October 2001.

He is the current Dean of Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources, University of Ibadan. Professor Oluwadare is a recipient of the following awards: The Commonwealth Forestry Bureau Prize, The Laurie prize, Forest Resources Management Departmental Prize, Senate Research Grants, MacArthur Foundation Capacity Building Grant, and Postgraduate School Conference Grants. He is a member of several notable professional bodies such as Chattered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON), Commonwealth Forestry Association (CFA, U.K.), International Wood Anatomist Association (IAWA, The Netherlands), Society for Wood Science and Technology (SWST, U.S.A.), Forestry Association of Nigeria (FAN, NG), International Union of Forestry Organization, (IUFRO) and Forests and Forest Products Society, (FFPS, NG) and with over 100 publications in refereed conference proceedings, chapters in Book and reputable journals around the world on pulp,paper,wood science and technology. Professor Oluwadare will be speaking on “Bridging the Gap in Pulp and Paper Production in Nigeria”

Cost-efficient and timely book provision, capacity building of public officials, private sector development, quality controls and evaluation, procurement, and distribution expertise. Managing Director of BlueTree Group BV and the sister companies BlueTree Group Kenya, providing Country Assessments and Technical Assistance concerning the book chain in developing countries. Blue Tree Group has developed tailor-made Technical Assistance modules to support local government, NGO, and donor teams in book provision, mainly in procurement, production, and distribution. Blue Tree’s local network covers the whole book chain in over 20 developing countries.

Hajiya Saratu A Umar

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity(Speaker)

Hajiya Saratu A Umar founded Aisston Consulting Ltd. Member of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and Senior Associate at Risk Management Association of Nigeria. She is the Chief Executive Officer of the NIPC, the Federal Government Agency mandated to encourage, promote and coordinate all investments in the Nigerian Economy. She will be speaking on “Creating the right Investment Climate for Pulp and Paper Production in Nigeria”

Mr. Olugbemi Malomo

President CIPPON (Chairman CWC )

Malomo Olugbemi is the President and Chairman in Council of Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria ( CIPPON) established by Act of parliament 24 of 2007.

A consummate graphics communication industry practitioner with over three decades experience and good knowledge of the graphics communication sphere in Nigeria .

He was involved in the advocacy that birthed the Printers Institute.
He is among those spearheading the renaissance of the Nigerian Graphics Communication Industry.
He is the Chairman of the Central Working Committee and will be delivering the welcome address.

Dr. Biodun Adedipe

Dr. Biodun Adedipe Ph.D., M.IoD, FCIB, FERP, FIMC is the founder and Chief Consultant of B. Adedipe Associates Limited (BAA Consult). With about four decades of post-graduate work and professional experience that cuts across university teaching, investment banking, project finance, management and financial consulting as well as leadership in business and not-for-profit organizations. ‘Biodun has had an illustrious career that has taken him through the University of Lagos, Enterprise Consulting Group, the World Bank (Africa Region), International Merchant Bank Plc, and First City Monument Bank Plc. He is a member of several respected professional bodies, including the Institute of Directors, Nigeria, The Nigeria Economic Society, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the American Economic Association.

Mr. Olukayode Pitan

MD Bank of Industry (BOI) ( Speaker)

Mr. Olukayode Pitan is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Industry Ltd, Nigeria’s oldest and largest development finance institution. He draws from significant experience gained across various financial services sectors including banking and capital markets, during his over 30-year career. Mr. Pitan has pioneered several innovative transactions in the Nigerian capital market and the international financial market towards the economic development of Nigeria. To date, he has led the Bank of Industry to successfully raise about $4 billion from the international market through syndications and most recently, through the bond market. He is a Fellow of several prestigious organisations including the following: Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB), Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (FCS), Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria (FICA), Nigeria Economic Society (FNES) and a member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria (MIoD). He is also an alumnus of the Lagos Business School; the London Business School; the Haggai Institute, Singapore; and the Galilee International Management Institute, Israel. He is also a merit award recipient of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
