Development plan for a sustainable integrated Forestry Project

Forestry plantations play a crucial role in pulp and paper production, both supplying the industry with raw materials and shaping the overall sustainability of the sector.

The Plan intends to set in motion the cultivation of over 250,000 hectares of integrated eucalyptus and other tree recommended by the R & D to produce the over three million tons of Pulp requirements for the Nation and for export spread across Nigeria

Identification and co-option of participation states of the federation where the lands are suitable for the project

As part of the Industrial Revolution plan / diversification from oil

Facilitate the template and legal structuring / licensing of over 250,000 ha from the Federal Govt / state governments as part of memorandum of understanding / ease of doing with potential investors

Biomass Utilization: Utilize sawmill residues, logging slash, and other non-commercial wood sources to make the most of available resources.

Bioenergy Generation: Explore options for generating bioenergy from waste biomass, contributing to renewable energy production.

Community Engagement:

Stakeholder Consultation: Involve local communities and indigenous populations in decision-making processes, respecting their rights and traditional knowledge.
Fair Labor Practices: Ensure fair wages and working conditions for forestry workers and paper production employees.
Community Development: Invest in initiatives that support the economic and social well-being of communities dependent on the forest.

Collaboration and Advocacy:

Industry Partnerships: Collaborate with other forestry and paper companies’ worldwide to share best practices and develop industry-wide standards.
Policy Advocacy: Advocate for policies that promote sustainable forestry, responsible sourcing, and circular economy principles.
